Since starting practice representing refugees immigrating to New Zealand in the mid-1990s, Simon Laurent has developed a strong reputation as a leader in the New Zealand Immigration field. He has chaired and presented seminars for both lawyers and immigration advisers, and has been called upon to provide industry comment for the media, including TVNZ's Close Up.
Marinda has enjoyed 20 years of extensive experience overseas and in New Zealand in a variety of fields, including legal, insurance, medical insurance and training and education. As part of her career path she focused on operations management and building systems and processes to improve delivery of professional services.
James attended the University of Auckland and holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts. Before joining Laurent Law he had previously worked as a Licensed Immigration Consultant for a well-known immigration practice in Auckland CBD and before that, at the Immigration Advisers Authority. James brings a wealth of immigration experience to the Laurent Law team.
Mathew graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours (First Class) from the Victoria University of Wellington in 2014. Before joining Laurent Law, Mathew worked as a legal analyst at a leading immigration consultancy. Mathew also has a number of years' experience working in refugee and immigration law, as a volunteer at a community services organization.
