If you want to settle in New Zealand and have funds to invest here, consider the Investor category of Residence.

The Active Investor Plus (AI+) scheme opened on 19 September 2022. You qualify if you invest between NZ$5 million and $15 million into a mix of “acceptable investments”:

• private NZ businesses approved by NZ Trade & Enterprise (“direct investments”)
• managed fund programmes approved by NZ Trade & Enterprise
• shares in companies trading on the NZ share market (“listed equities”)
• NZ-registered charities (“philanthropic investment”)

You must invest your nominated funds in New Zealand for 4 years, and spend a total of about 4 months (117 days) in New Zealand.
